My PR roots and Spanish food by BAM
Since my nationality is Puerto Rican; my love of food in inherited. Although, in NYC/NJ a lot of the local Spanish cuisine has begun to change to tacos (no slight ya’ll), I do love to highlight the Caribbean food scene whenever possible. So, if you're near the Brooklyn Academy of Music and craving Spanish cuisine, there are some great options close by. Sophie’s Cuban Cuisine, located at 27 Smith St, Brooklyn, offers an authentic Cuban yummy food, although a chain restaurant with other locations throughout NYC they offer dishes like ropa vieja and crispy breaded chicken with rice and beans. Casa Adela, a bit further away on Avenue C, is renowned for its authentic Puerto Rican dishes, especially the rotisserie chicken. Socarrat Paella Bar on Second Avenue is perfect for paella and tapas lovers. Enjoy these flavorful spots before or after catching a show!
