The Doobie Brothers: Rockin' Down the Highway to PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ
Strap in, rock fans, because the legends are back! The Doobie Brothers are hitting the road for their much-anticipated 2024 tour, and they’re rolling into Holmdel, NJ, at the PNC Bank Arts Center this August (I am sure to be there and with updates). Whether you’re a long-time fan or a newbie to the Doobie groove, this show promises to be a high-octane ride down memory lane with a few modern twists thrown in for good measure. So, after over five decades of making music, The Doobie Brothers are still proving that age is just a number. With more energy than a toddler after a sugar rush, these rock 'n' roll warriors are bringing their classic hits and infectious spirit to stages across the country. It’s like they’ve discovered the fountain of youth, and spoiler alert: it’s probably just a steady diet of rock, roll, and a touch of nostalgia.
Let’s face it, the Doobies have a catalog that reads like a greatest hits album. From “Listen to the Music” to “China Grove” and “Long Train Runnin’,” their songs are the soundtrack to countless road trips, backyard barbecues, and questionable karaoke nights. And let’s not forget “What a Fool Believes,” possibly one of my favorite songs of all time.
But don’t be fooled into thinking this tour is just about reliving the past. The Doobies have some tricks up their sleeves. Rumor has it they’re mixing in some new material, showing that they’re not just resting on their laurels. And who knows? There might even be a surprise guest or two. Could it be Michael McDonald? Will someone break out a keytar solo? Only one way to find out!
So, Holmdel, are you ready to rock? The Doobie Brothers are coming to town, and it’s going to be an unforgettable night of music, memories, and maybe a few too many air guitar solos. See you there – let’s listen to the music and make this summer one for the record books!
